Fruit trees

I’m intrigued with the Apple tree I planted last spring. It is a double graft Granny Smith & Pink Lady. It has been extremely slow in losing its leaves. Finally in the last day or so, one branch has lost its leaves, but the other still has full foliage. Crazy given the temperatures we have been having.

I can’t wait to eat my first home grown apples!

Hi Naomi, it is certainly strange that your apple tree hasn’t lost its leaves yet. Our Medlar, an heirloom fruit tree only lost its leaves three weeks ago and I thought that was very late. Is yours in a particularly protected position?

I have two trees but the same varieties as you Naomi and they also still have their leaves. They’re just beginning to look Autumny now and yet I noticed all the prunus around Dickson are beginning to blossom! apples must just be very weather proof.
