The broad aim of permaculture is to design landscapes which mimic the patterns and relationships found in nature, while yielding an abundance of food, fibre and energy. In contrast to industrial agriculture, land cultivation in permaculture is viewed in terms of how it relates to surrounding ecosystems – the aim is to work with, rather than against, natural cycles, patterns and processes, creating a genuinely sustainable agriculture.
Workshop 1: Introduction to the Principles of Permaculture Part 1.
Principles 1 to 6: Observe and Interact; Catch and Store Energy; Obtain a Yield; Apply Self Regulation and Accept Feedback; Use and Value Renewable Resources and Services; Produce no Waste.
